Is Starry Night good astronomy software to locate objects in the night sky?

When I got my Orion SkyQuest Xt10 classic it comes with Starry night orion special edition of Astronomy Software. Which Starry night is the best one to buy??? Im having problems finding DSO's ? What do I need to do to find them easy?
