I am thinking of getting the Oberwerk 11X70 . The purpose for these is Astronomical. I have heard these are awesome, and I want to get something that will have vaule for along time.
Also can anyone tell me where they might recomend to buy these from? Who has the best warranty? They seem to cost the same from about 10 or more diff retailers, and Im not sure where the best place might be.
Thanks

Oberwerk makes very nice binoculars at reasonable prices. 11×70 might be slightly to large to hand-hold. You may need a tripod——-
My 20×80s require a tripod to hold them steady.
Get a Tripod. You will need it to keep the view steady.
I had -750 in one eye and -775 in the other. I had lasik eye surgery in 2000 a the age of 41. I dont need any glasses now except the cheap sunglasses in the summer. I highly recomend this surgery. The freedom you get is is like a new blessing and the gift of sight from the Lord. Many doctors will now take payments and many banks will finance it too. It is much less expensive now than when I had it done and some insurance companies are even covering it now too.
Best wishes with your new binoculars. That is a good choice. Dont get any smaller though. For astronomy the main rule is apeture, apeture, apeture.
A good choice.
Another excellent source, just for comparison, is Orion telescopes. They have one of the largest selections of Binoculars for Astronomy. They also have lots of info in their catalog.
Please heed the advise given above about a tripod or mount.!! Binoculars of this size are almost impossible to hold steady for any length of time. If you are a handy person, a web search will reveal many designs for homemade Binocular mounts that are pretty easy to construct. But, whichever way you go, some kind of mount is necessary for Binos of that size and power.

What got me hooked with UMPC’s and many other mobile devices is because of this video.
I'm no expert, but I'd go for the Oberwerk binos. If you plan on using them for astronomy, I'd also highly recommend a decent tripod so your neck and shoulders aren't in pain after a night of viewing. It will also give you steady images.
There are many favorable reviews for Oberwerk 15×70s on http://www.cloudynights.com.
If you use a mildot scope a product called MilDot Master can speed up your calculations.
